Thelema Chardonnay 2015 (Stellenbosch, South Africa) "...peach, grapefruit and cherry blossoms..."
"Built around fruit from one old vineyard on the farm, this is a consistent Chardonnay that rarely disappoints. Rich, toasty and wooded, but with good underlying acidity, a drizzle of honey and attractive peach and nectarine sweetness. 2017-20. " - 92 Points, Tim Atkin
"The 2015 Chardonnay sees 30-35% new oak for nine months, the malolactic inhibited. There was just a smidge of reduction on the nose that soon wafted away, behind which lies cooking apple, Conference pear and orange blossom aromas. The palate is well balanced with a slightly waxy entry, a keen thread of acidity and a saline, quite phenolic finish. Good potential here." - 89+ Points, Wine Advocate
"The 2015 Chardonnay, which underwent a little more malolactic than the Sutherland Chardonnay, has an elegant bouquet with hints of rosewater infusing the citrus fruit; subtle tropical notes become more pronounced with aeration. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, quite nutty in style, revealing guava and hints of pineapple toward the finish, and feels generous. It probably just needs a little more mineralité to come through." - 89 Points, Vinous
