Astrolabe Beacon Hill Rose 2017 (Marlborough, New Zealand) "...rhubarb, rosewater, quince..."
“The wines in this part of Astrolabe's range demonstrate winemaker Simon Waghorn's innovative treatment of specific parcels of fruit and his willingness to challenge the 'everyday' winemaking process. Simon loves to experiment while capturing the raw, ethereal and sometimes undiscovered qualities of individual grape varieties (in this case Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris). This rosé is light in colour, with a delicate shade of pink antique rose. The nose has aromas of rhubarb crème brûlée, rosewater and bottled stonefruit. The palate is medium-bodied and dry with round, mouth-filling flavours of crabapple jelly and quince paste.”
