Baron Rothschild Mouton Cadet 'Vintage Edition' 2015 (Bordeaux, France) "...wild strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant..."
Mouton Cadet Rouge is made from a blend of classic grape varieties: Merlot (84%) Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (6%). Merlot brings roundness and ripe red fruits, Cabernet Sauvignon the tannic structure and touches of black berry fruit and cabernet Franc elegance and freshness.
The wine is intense purple with a lightly carmine tint. The nose opens with an explosion of aromas, especially wild strawberry, cherry, bilberry and blackcurrant. The fruit remains very present after airing, enhanced by additional soft spice notes.
The fruit on the nose emerges rapidly on the supple and well-balanced palate, supported by silky, deep and dense tannins which give structure to the mid-palate. The finish is remarkable for its rich fruit, enhanced by a touch of sweetness which completes the wine in a most attractive way.
