Bodegas Docampo Vina do Campo Blanco D.O. 2016 (Ribeiro, Spain) "...peach, citrus, honeysuckle..."
This bright, crisp, unoaked Spanish white wine comes from the Galician province of Ribeiro, in northwest Spain, where the family owned Bodegas Docampo winery has made its home since 1933. Ribeiro's climate is similar to that of the neighboring province of Valdeorras, whose reputation for the production of top-notch whites is well established. While white grapes are a relative newcomer to Ribeiro, the quality is excellent, and the prices are even better than in Valdeorras. Viña do Campo Blanco is made from 70% Treixadura and 30% Torrontés, hand-harvested from Docampo's family-owned vineyards. Grapes are hand sorted at the winery, and kept chilled from the time that they enter the winery until they are crushed, to maintain freshness and purity of the fruit flavors. The Viña do Campo Blanco rolls over the palate with ultra-crisp notes of peach, honeysuckle and citrus that are both delicate and complex, with an underlying richness that completes the wine splendidly on the finish.
