Brackenwood Vineyard 'Skin Contact' Chardonnay 2017 (Adelaide Hills, South Australia) "...white flowers, citrus marmalade, white peach..."
Brackenwood Vineyard is located within the beautiful Hope Forest, nestled high in the Adelaide Hill’s sub-region of Kuitpo. The property is set in the most southern section of the Hills and was once a deer farm, where some deer still remain.
The Vineyard is biodynamic and all fruit is Estate grown. The vines grow on a variety of undulating slopes, 360-400 metres high in soils that are ironstone and quartz over clay subsoil.
Brackenwood strictly adheres to biodynamic winemaking principles and believe this is the ultimate form of sustainable production working in harmony with natural ecosystems.
"Chardonnay picked early and fermented to a low octane 11.9% alc, left on skins for 21 days. Crunchy and fresh, an alluring nose of white flowers and honeysuckle, with the palate delivering citrus marmalade, white peaches and a sprinkle of thyme. Not as confronting as many skinsy wines can be, nicely textured and a superb partner for a range of foods, especially spicy."
