Chateau Grand-Jean AOC Bordeaux Superieur 2018 (Bordeaux, France) "...blackcurrant, raspberry, vanilla..."
The Dulon family have been winemakers from father to son for more than 250 years in the Entre Deux Mers area. They own 3 Chateaux across the region with vineyard holdings of more than 130 hectares and make some of the best value red wines in all of Bordeaux.
The Bordeaux Superieur (Chateau Grand-Jean) comes from vineyards with similar clay/limestone soils, but from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. There are intense flavours of suptuous black fruits, oak and bramble, with a long, carry and finish.
"Deep ruby red colour. Notes of cherry, raspberry and a hint of blackcurrant on the nose, mixed with aromas of vanilla and woody spices. Well balanced and juicy on the palate, with a fresh and pleasing finish. This is a great example of a delicious every-day Bordeaux, sure to please fans of the style."
