The Chionetti winery is one of the best-known wineries in Piemonte’s Dogliani with a great tradition of making various single-vineyard Dogliani DOC & DOCG wines. The history of the Chionetti family has been linked to the vine from the 19th century. The turning point came in 1912 when Giuseppe Chionetti bought the farm in a suitable area for vineyards in San Luigi in the town of Dogliani. The vineyards from which they source their grapes are located in the Langhe wine region which was recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2014.
La Chiusa Langhe Nebbiolo partially ferments in wooden barrels, and no cultural yeast is added so that the original grape flavor can be preserved. Chionetti's wines largely reflect the terroir and vintage, so the expression can vary from year to year, but always with the style of the house in the center. The grapes are grown organically with respect for nature.
"Light ruby red colour. Delicate on the nose, with fruity hints of black cherry, blackberry and cherry, which are followed by balsamic and spicy nuances. Elegant on the palate, balanced and with good persistence."
