Domaine Arnaud Baillot Beaune ‘Les Montrevenots’ Premier Cru 2017 (Burgundy, France) "...raspberry, cherry, roasted game..."
Arnaud Baillot is located in Beaune, the heart of the Côte d’Or. Owner and winemaker, Arnaud Baillot, now presents his third vintage of limited edition Burgundy crus.
Passionate about the diversity of wines the Burgundy region has to offer, Arnaud has teamed up with his wife Laure (grandaughter of Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in Chambolle-Musigny) to produce a spectacular range of villages and crus Burgundy wines. Arnaud has been hands-on all along the way, selecting the origin of the grapes, overviewing the winemaking process, choosing the type of barrels and ageing time for each individual wine. In 2017, Arnaud and Laure acquired a small vineyard in Côte de Beaune, making their first step in having their own Estate produced wines at Domaine Arnaud Baillot. Their philosophy is to respect and promote the complexity of the Burgundy wine region while producing terroir driven wines.
Beaune vineyards are the most extensive of the Côte de Beaune, between Savigny to the North, and Pommard to the South. There are no Grand Cru vineyards in this commune, but 42 Premiers Crus. ‘Les Montrevenots’ is very well located, it combines the delicacy of a Beaune with the power of a Pommard.
"This wine’s fine nose reveals notes of candied fruits and very pleasant hints of red fruits. A fresh and silky presence in the mouth reveals relatively mellow tannins. Beaune wines are generous and show great aromatic power and fleshy texture, which make them a perfect match for musky and very firm meats such as roasted or braised game and are also delicious served with cheeses such as Brillat-Savarin or Délice de Pommard."
