Domaine Arnaud Baillot Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2017 (Burgundy, France) "...cherry, raspberry, spice..."
Arnaud Baillot, now presents his third vintage of limited edition Burgundy crus. Passionate about the diversity of wines the Burgundy region has to offer, Arnaud has teamed up with his wife Laure (grandaughter of Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in Chambolle-Musigny) to produce a spectacular range of villages and crus Burgundy wines. Arnaud has been hands-on all along the way, selecting the origin of the grapes, overviewing the winemaking process, choosing the type of barrels and ageing time for each individual wine. In 2017, Arnaud and Laure acquired a small vineyard in Côte de Beaune, making their first step in having their own Estate produced wines at Domaine Arnaud Baillot. Their philosophy is to respect and promote the complexity of the Burgundy wine region while producing terroir driven wines.
Gevrey Chambertin is the most northern of the great communes of the Côte de Nuits. There are 26 Premiers Crus and 8 Grands Crus. Arnaud Baillot Gevrey Chambertin wines are produced from vineyards lying on the extension of the slope on which the Grands and Premiers Crus are situated. This wine is very limited.
"Arnaud Baillot Gevrey-Chambertin shows the qualities characteristic of the commune: deep color, with a multi-faceted berry and red fruit bouquet, a full, tannic structure and mellow texture carry into a lasting finish."
