Domaine Cornu Corton Grand Cru 2013 (Burgundy, France) "...cherry, violet, spice..."
A small family owned Domaine in the heart of the Côte-d’Or in the village of Magny les Villers, just outside Nuits-St-Georges. With holdings on 14 titles in both the Côtes de Beaune and Côtes de Nuits, across 19 acres farmed organically and vinified traditionally resulting in pure whites and muscular reds that age well. Champions of the Ladoix appellation at the foot of the hill of Corton, this is burgundy with soul.
This named vineyard means that it was dissociated by inheritance between different owners and therefore “cropped”. Powerful, rich and with tons of body, aged in new oak barrels. It’s a wine with beautiful structure and great complexity. For this reason, intense cheeses will tame it, but strong meats will undoubtedly be where this wine will stand out.
"A wonderfully elegant wine with notes of black and red cherries, ripe raspberry, blackberry, baking spices and subtle mineral undertones. A well structured and balanced wine. Medium bodied, persistent with plenty of freshness and texture. Very enjoyable."
