Domaine Naturaliste 'Floris' Chardonnay 2019 (Margaret River, Western Australia) "...grapefruit, white peach, cashew..."
Floris is a modern and engaging expression of a local clone into wine. This style is a co-evolution of modern Australian food and wine culture, which has great emphasis on balance, freshness and hedonistic pleasure. The sustainably farmed vineyard is in the cool southern end of Margaret River. Floris exhibits delicate textures and floral notes reminiscent of white jasmine flowers.
Domaine Naturaliste is the newish venture of agronomist award winning winemaker Bruce Dukes. After twenty five years of applying his craftsmanship to international and local producers, Bruce has launched his own range of wines named after the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge which is the dominant land form of viticultural significance in Margaret River; their viticultural domaine.
"Absolutely nails all that is good about Margaret River Chardonnay. Bright grapefruit and white peach glide along a palate with great mouthfeel from its fruit, acidity and touches of roasted cashew nuts. Nothing wasted here, nothing included without need." - 96 points - James Halliday, Wine Companion
