Flametree Shiraz 2017 (Margaret River, Western Australia) "...black cherry, plum, licorice..."
"It’s an elegant wine, well-ripened, floral and perfumed, and gently sinewy. Margaret River almost never makes ‘big’ or heavy shiraz but this is ever-so-slightly lighter than the norm, though the complexity levels have been elevated as compensation. I like it. It’s not ready to drink right now, it needs a couple of years to start showing itself properly; it begs for a touch of age to creep in. Some faces just look better with a crease or two. Balance of fruit-oak-acid-tannin here is impeccable, as is the flourish to the finish. It’s a squeaky clean wine, but an interesting one. Admirable. With a future." 92+ Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
