Fletcher X15 Langhe Rosso 2015 (Piedmont, Italy) "...plums, roses and graphite..."
This is a wine of power and elegance. As a blend of 1/3 Nebbiolo, 1/3 Cabernet Sauvignon and 1/3 Merlot, you would expect the latter two varieties to dominate, however, the Nebbiolo truly shines over the top of both of them. The nose immediately indicates the floral nature of Nebbiolo, the body through the mouth speaks of the density and depth of flavour of the other two varieties, but the finish is a tannin kick that can only come from the one true king, Nebbiolo….. - David Fletcher
Gary Walsh, The Winefront: "Woah! My three favourite red grapes all in the one bottle, in equal parts. Nebbiolo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. The big question, though, is what kind of glass do you drink it from?
It’s all go here with this head snapping blend of grapes. Blackcurrant, plum, pencils, roses and violets. Medium bodied, but dense, pitch perfect acidity, melting but minerally tannin, a carpet of them neatly laid through dark fruits, with the perfume of Nebbiolo escaping, and making good on the finish with its precision and grip. Country and Western. Brilliant."
