Freycinet Pinot Noir 2019 (Freycinet, Tasmania) "...spicy cherries, raspberries and cedar..."
Freycinet Vineyard has a fine track record and a reputation for producing exemplary Pinot Noirs going back to 1988. The Vineyard bloodline and pedigree in this wine is unmistakable. As always, the wine is a delicious expression of the grape, our site and the season. The 2016 Vintage is a classic Freycinet Pinot. A deep crimson colour, with arresting aromas and a succulent dark plum and black cherry palate. The aroma and flavour purity has an abundance of complexity, colour and tannins typical of our site.
"Hand-picked, 95% whole berry/5% whole bunch, 28 and 48 days on skins (for 80% and 20% of the wine respectively), matured for 16 months in French oak (36% new). Radically different to Louis. Medium-bodied with spicy/savoury notes from start to finish. Both this and Louis need time for the tannins to soften." - James Halliday, Wine Companion 2021 (95 Points)
