Greystone Chardonnay 2017 (Waipara Valley, New Zealand) "...mango, lemon peel, vanilla..."
"Wonderfully composed and expressed, the gorgeously complex bouquet shows mango, lemon peel, vanilla, toasted almond and brioche characters, followed by a concentrated palate that is fleshy and rounded. The wine delivers excellent fruit power and weight, brilliantly complemented by creamy texture and seamlessly integrated acidity" - 95 Points, Sam Kim (Wine Orbit)
"Stylish, well-made organic chardonnay with hazelnut, sizzled butter, white peach, ginger and spicy oak flavours. A seamless wine with a lengthy finish displaying an array of subtle and appealing flavours. Delicious now but no rush." - 94 Points, Bob Campbell MW
"Bright golden-yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full with softly concentrated aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits and citrus fruit harmoniously entwined with an amalgam of creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak. The aromatics are densely packed, unfolding suggestions of buttery MLF. Full-bodied, the palate has integrated ripe flavours of yellow stonefruits, citrus and tropical fruit and creamy oak with buttery notes. The fruit is fulsome and mouthfilling with breadth and roundness, the acidity ripe and soft. There is considerable alcoholic power and drive, and the wine carries positively to a solid, deep, sustained finish. Match with roast pork over the next 4 years. Hand-picked fruit, one block WBP, and the clone 95 fruit foot-crushed, the fruit indigenous yeast fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 25% new French oak barriques, with 100% MLF." - 19-/20 Points, Raymond Chan
