Ha Ha Sauvignon Blanc 2015 (Marlborough, New Zealand) "...passionfruit, mango, lime zest..."
"A fabulous example of vibrant sauvignon."
It is intensely aromatic on the nose displaying passionfruit, mango, lime zest and dill characters, followed by a powerfully expressed palate that is juicy and flavoursome. The wine offers layers of gorgeous flavours, beautifully structured by refreshing acidity" - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit.
Intensely aromatic with a blend of gooseberries, passionfruit and lime zest on the nose. A burst of concentrated gooseberry and passionfruit flavours leads to superb fruit richness and a long textural mouth feel with a clean limey dry finish.
This wine is delicious as an apertif, or with long lunches and chicken dinners, and is delightful with Thai spicy green lipped mussels.
This wine is produced from vineyards in the Waihopai Valley and the Wairau Valley of the stunningly beautiful Marlborough region of New Zealand. The soils are ancient river beds with a mix of free draining stony soils and clay loams.
"Bright straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, lighter on rim. The nose is soft, gently aromatic and up-front with gooseberry and tropical fruits entwined with delicate herbal elements and suggestions of yellow capsicums and florals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of juicy gooseberries and tropical fruits are open and accessible. Subtle herbal and floral elements unfold from the heart. The mouthfeel is lively and zesty with bright acidity, and the wine flows along a fine, light, grainy-textured line, the phenolics balanced by the fruit sweetness and fresh acid. The is carried by the mouthwatering acidity to a bracing, lingering finish. This is a bright, crisp, mouthwatering Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours. Match with salads and vegetables and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Waihopi and Wairau valleys cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 1.7 g/L RS. - Oct 2015" 17.5/20 - Raymond Chan MW
