Head 'The Brunette' Shiraz 2019 (Barossa Valley, South Australia)

$76.00 $82.00
Alex Head is one of the Barossa's brightest young stars. He is, what you might call, a natural talent. With no formal winemaking training, the precision and skill with which he crafts his wines is quite incredible.

Arguably, the two wines in his portfolio that have gained him the most notoriety would be twin Shiraz; The Blonde and The Brunette. The Brunette is the slightly brawnier and more rustic of the two, a wine with intensity and power in spades.

This is one of the benchmarks for the next generation of Barossa Shiraz. This single vineyard in Moppa producing one of the future icon wines of the region. Collectors, get on board.

"Deep, rich purple/red colour, with a smoky-charcuterie, delicatessen-type bouquet which leads into a very full-bodied, powerful palate that boasts concentrated flavour and abundant tannins that coat the entire mouth. There's excellent line and length and the tannins promise a long and bright future. Dark plums, blackberry, a subtle lick of mixed spices. So concentrated it's almost an essence. Very long carry. Long-term." - 95 Points, Huon Hooke (The Real Review)
