Hollick Wrattonbully Shiraz 2019 (Coonawarra, South Australia) "...violet, wild herbs, pepper..."
The Hollick ‘Red Ridge’ Wrattonbully vineyard with its rolling hills and stony soil, is a fantastic site for quality wine grape production. The vineyard was planted in 1998 and boasts similar shallow terra rossa soils over limestone to Coonawarra, but is marginally warmer resulting in slightly earlier ripening. Our Wrattonbully vineyard consistently produces low yields of fruit with intense flavour and colour. The Hollick Shiraz displays the rare combination of power and elegance.
"As this Shiraz slowly begins to unwind in the glass it releases aromas of blackberries and dark bramble notes, which combine with exotic spices, pepper and forest floor that develop in the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus body, and is nicely textured, displaying notable poise and balance. This continues to deliver flavors of bramble fruits pepper, spices and forest floor persist nicely on the finish." - 91 Points, International Wine Report
