Howard Park 'Museum Release' Riesling 2012 (Margaret River, Western Australia) "...nougat, meringue, citrus..."
Gold Medal - Canberra International Riesling Challenge
Huon Hooke's #1 Great Southern Riesling of 2012
The wine is selected from only the best batches of free-run juice; these wines demonstrate great potential for slow ageing and the development of toasty complexity and greater mouth-feel. Howard Park’s Great Southern Riesling is consistently rated as one of Australia’s best Rieslings. It is listed as Australia’s 4th most collected Riesling from a survey conducted by Wine Ark out of 3 million bottles of wine in cellars across the country.
"After 4 years in the cellar, the 2012 Howard Park Riesling has reached a stage where the exuberance of youth is beginning to yield. The bouquet’s zesty citrus aromas are embellished with notes of fresh nougat, nutmeal, meringue and preserved lemon. The tension of the palate has consented to a breadth of flavour that is rich and layered. Whilst now defined by a greater depth and complexity of flavour, the palate remains guided by a fine, linear acidity and stone - like minerality."
