Lino Ramble 'Tom Bowler' Nero d'Avola 2017 (McLaren Vale, South Australia) "...cherry, plum, lavender..."
Lino Ramble is the exciting creation of eccentric duo Andy Coppard (Winemaker) and Angela Townsend (self-proclaimed "Engine Driver") born amongst the picturesque landscape of McLaren Vale.
Their wines are built on the philosophy that "The right variety grown in right place, farmed in a sustainable fashion" is going to produce the best fruit and it looks like a winning formula.
Some very good examples of Nero d'Avola coming out of McLaren Vale these days, this is one of the best in the region.
It's organically grown, picked early to retain freshness and yet still shows that juicy, sweet delicious fruit that makes Nero such a perfect any-time anywhere variety.
These medium-bodied reds coming out of McLaren Vale are so much more versatile than the monster reds of old.
"Nero D’Avola is a red variety well suited to Australia’s warming, drying future. Deep red with a good purple tint, it has a bouquet of maraschino cherry and dried plum with an earthy, Italianate accent. Medium to full-bodied and sinewy, it has a sweet-fruit core, lively acidity and drying but balanced tannins. A wine of considerable style and charm. (Screwcap)." - 93 Points, The Real Review
