Lost Farm Pinot Noir 2020 (Tamar Valley, Tasmania) "...cherry, strawberry, spice..."
The Tamar Valley is situated in the north of Tasmania and has a classic cool climate, perfectly suited to growing super premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. The Tamar River provides the heartbeat of the region with vineyards situated on the gentle slopes predominately to the east and south of the river. As one of the purest environments in the world, its fresh, clean air and unique vineyard sites mean it is one of the great wine growing regions of the world.
The Lost Farm Pinot Noir is sourced from a family owned vineyard south of Launceston. The 20 year old vines are planted in alluvial clay on an even north east facing slope, delivering pristine Pinot Noir grapes that are perfumed with red berry fruit characteristics and delicate spiciness.
"Lost Farm Wines Tasmania is about discovery and potential. Through key relationships with a small number of growers in the cold climate of Tasmania’s Tamar Valley we aim to make wines with soil, soul and place in mind. Lost Farm Pinot Noir is a fresh, bright and vibrant Pinot Noir that shows lifted cherries, strawberry, with spice and briary notes. The palate is focused with red fruits, lovely texture and silky, smooth tannins." - Winery notes
