Marchand & Burch Chardonnay evolved from the desire of Jeff Burch and Pascal Marchand to make wine of great presence and character by applying the traditional techniques of Burgundy to the unique terroir of the new world. It was in the remote Great Southern region where Pascal felt the nascent vineyards could give the most promising expression to this idea, and our winemakers have taken up this ethos to produce a truly memorable series of wines.
"Aromas of curry leaf, struck match and yellow peach to start, following through on the palate. The edges of the fruit have a creamy underside, characterised by crushed cashew and white spice. Long and rich, this has quenching acid (no doubt from the elevated vineyards from which this fruit was sourced) and long, unfurling flavours to close. Star anise and wafts of fennel flower." - 95 Points, Erin Larkin (Wine Companion)
