Nova Vita Firebird Pinot Noir 2019 (Adelaide Hills, South Australia) "...ranberry, rhubarb, mushroom..."
The Kozned family has a long tradition of growing grapes and making wines. Before immigrating to Australia after World war Two their family grew grapes in the Caucasus grape growing region in Southern Russia which is renowned for producing quality wines.
The love of growing grapes and making wines has been passed onto Mark Kozned with him following his family tradition into the wine industry. The Firebird, Mad Russian and George Kozned range of wines all honour the close relationship maintained tradition.
"Hand picked, with partial whole bunch ferment this Pinot Noir has a delicate tannin structure. Flavours of cherry, cranberry, rhubarb, mushroom and truffle abound. Bottled with minimal sulphites." - Winery Notes
"Mushroom aromas overlay strawberries and cherries on the nose. The palate is on the lighter side with soft tannins and a juicy acidity supporting dark cherries and stewed rhubarb flavours although nothing juts out awkwardly. The overall impression is of a well crafted, well structured light red wine." - Erez Gordon, Carboot Wines
