Pala i Fiori Cannonau di Sardegna DOC 2020 (Sardinia, Italy) "...ripe raspberry, spice, herbs..."
Established in 1950 and now run by the third generation of the family, Pala is a specialist in Cannonau (aka Grenache). Cement and stainless steel tanks rather than oak barrels were used for the 6 month aging period plus 3 months of bottle aging before release. For a hot vintage, there is remarkable structure in this wine. Look for a ruby red colour with violet edges: strong perfumes of black currants and hibiscus; a fruity and medium bodied palate; and a spicy herbal finish.
DOC is an Italian quality assurance designation for wine and food. To receive this label, a product must adhere to quality assurance rules as well as the location defined in the rules.
"Intense ruby red colour with violet hints, very clear. Intense, fresh and immediate aroma with notes of ripe red fruits and vegetables. Dry and smooth on the palate, good structure and nose-palate persistence."
