Peter Drayton Wildstreak Shiraz 2019 (Hunter Valley, New South Wales) "...blackberry, dark cherry, red berries..."

$29.00 $32.00

The vineyard produces wine from the grape varieties for which the Hunter is famous, including Shiraz, Semillon and Chardonnay. It also has extensive plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Verdelho and the CSIRO hybrid grape Tyrian. An exciting range of ‘alternate’ varieties are now available given these Mediterranean styles are extremely suitable and receptive to the Hunter’s climate.

"A savoury medium-bodied wine that is defined by an earthy feel, more suggestive of a lunchtime claret than a warm-climate shiraz. For the better! Think sour cherry, varnish, violet, polished leather and a spool of chamois tannins, defining a firm persistent finish. Solid drinking, marked by an inimitable regional postcode." - Wine Companion
