Sartori de Verona Amarone Corte Bra DOCG 2012 (Valpolicella, Italy) "...morello cherry, gingerbread, plums."
Vineyard Located in the hillsides north of Verona Podere "Corte Brà".
50% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta
The Corte Brà vineyard is in the northern hills of Verona. Clay and calcareous soil.
The grapes are carefully selected, placed in small crates, and air dried for 3 to 4 months. At optimal dryness, only the best grapes are hand selected and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel for about 30 days. The wine is transferred to traditional tanks for malolactic fermentation and is then aged in various sized oak casks for about 4 years. At least 6 months of bottle ageing follows.
"Charming garnet colour with notes of plums, morello cherries and black cherries. There are also hints of gingerbread spices, oriental spices and dark chocolate. Impressively fresh and lively on the palate with more black and red cherries and pleasing mineral notes." - Erez Gordon, Carboot Wines
