Racked directly to barrel after whole-bunch pressing, this wine is the purest expression of TarraWarra Chardonnay. Made without yeast or acid addition, the fruit batches from each block are kept entirely separate in barrel over the 10 months in oak. It is crossflow filtered without fining before bottling at the Estate.
Aromas of citrus fruits and white flowers reflect the cooler year, the palate balanced between finesse, length and creamy texture. The acid line drives through with a persistent and long finish. A wine to drink and enjoy now or cellar for 10 or more years.
"Hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented in French oak (25% new), no additions of any kind except SO2. Not as fresh as the Estate, but has complexity and depth." - 94 Points, James Halliday
