Tarrawarra Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2015 (Yarra Valley, Victoria) "...raspberry, cranberry, spice..."
"Grown on two estate blocks, one planted in 1983, the other in 1989. It only spends 11 months in oak, 25% of it new. Spicy pinot noir. Not leafy, spicy. Fine boned too, though sweet red cherries combine with a mix of raspberry and cranberry to produce a fluid, saucy effect. This isn’t a big pinot noir by any stretch – it’s on the lighter side of things – but it’s seductive. Assorted florals and musk notes help in this regard. Has it cashed in on the glory of the 2015 vintage? Hard to say, which is a back-handed way of saying Not Quite. It’s good, very, but not compelling. It’s a news story without a headline. The effect of time will be interesting." 92+ Points, The Winefront
