Tenuta del Porconero Aglianico IGP 2017 (Campania, Italy) "...fruity, dark berry, sweet spice..."
Porconero means "black pig" and is considered the best friend of the man, indeed, and of the table.
A versatile and modern wine, born from native Cilento wine varieties growing in the vineyards between Stio and Giungano in a hilly-mountainous terroir rich in minerals, with an ideal solar exposure and the persistent influences of the sea. Features that give the wine a wide and full bouquet of flavours. And for Aglianico, this is wonderfully drinkable and not too tannic (as is often the case).
"Aglianico grapes from the organically-farmed vineyard of Cannito about 175 metres above sea level are employed to make this spicy red. Hand-harvested from vines that were planted in the late 1990s, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks, unoaked, the wine is aged for about a year prior to bottling. The nose shows fresh dark fruit aromas with sweet spicy notes, the palate is fruit-driven, spicy and quite full-bodied."
