Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Pinot Nero DOC 2018 (Alto Adige, Italy) "...cherry, raspberry, blackberry..."
Considered to be a benchmark producer in the region, Tiefenbrunner was founded in 1848 and their range of wines including Chardonnay, Maller Thurgau, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc continue to delight wine-lovers throughout the world. Their vineyards lie on the steep slopes of the region, one in particular, the Feldmarschell von Fenner Maller Thurgau is at 1000 metres above sea-level, and is trellised with the local pergola and wine frame methods. The winery is located in Entiklar, a hamlet of Kurtatsch and the estate consistently wins many awards in Italy's most famous wine guide, the Gambero Rosso.
"A very fruity style of pinot nero with tons of dried violets, nutmeg, citrus and dried spices. There's some gravitas to the polished tannins, though, and the vibrant, exuberant fruit is very impressive. Excellent pinot to drink now." - 92 Points, James Suckling
"This Pinot Noir is ruby-red in color with a garnet-red glow and a subtle bouquet of blackberries, raspberries and cherries. It has a youthful strength and pedigree, is soft and full-bodied while being balanced and elegant on the palate."
