Yelland & Papps YP Shiraz 2021 (Barossa Valley, South Australia)

$38.00

For many of their wines, the focus is on site; on their long-standing relationship with multi-generational grape-growers in the Barossa. Grape growers that are connected to their slices of earth, farm well and have unlocked the secrets of their sites over many years of tending their vineyards.

The YP Shiraz represents a ‘best of’ kind of vibe. A Shiraz, composed of individual components from many of their favourite grape growers and sub-regions of the Barossa.

Hand-picked with 11% whole bunches in the ferments (indigenous yeasts) which take place in open fermenters or barrels depending on the vineyard.

It sees around 10 days on skins before basket pressing to old, seasoned French oak for 23 months before bottling.

"With bright herbal characters captivating on the nose, this is fresh with hints of aniseed,
and stems. This Shiraz has a great acid texture and drives through the palate with finely
structured tannins. It is moreish yet light on its feet, intoxicating nose lingers through to the
end with a beautiful finish."
